Summary

This year has truly been the “year of the entrepreneur” for Waco and I can’t help but smile when I see so many dreams coming to fruition—I love my fellow small business neighbors and our downtown district definitely has some new blood coming onto the scene, ready to make waves! The best part? They are all about to start welcoming you into their stories this summer! So if you are coming to visit Waco this summer, be sure to make time for these up and coming local hotspots!

Mary Avenue Market
Mary Avenue Market is just a hop and a skip away from Magnolia Market. The old Morrison Supply Co. building has undergone a huge makeover, and it’s soon to be bustling with shoppers and diners. The development is home to:

Hecho en Waco: An upscale Tex Mex restaurant with a twist, this restaurant will anchor the development and also be a local favorite for sure.

Fox & Gray: An LA boutique that is making Waco home! Shop here for affordable clothing, shoes, jewelry and gifts.

Pie Peddlers: Can you say award winning pies? I’ll be here an embarrassing amount of time, I’m sure.

Goodtimber Furnishings: Farmhouse Junkies will LOVE this storefront, they’ll be selling furniture handcrafted from such materials as whiskey barrels and farm implements.

Iron Willow: If you’ve been to Canton’s Trade Days you’ve probably admired Iron Willow’s beautiful metal artwork, and this will be her permanent home!

Impact Nutrition: Healthy eats and tasty sips! This smoothie storefront will refresh and energize you on you Waco Trip!

Washington Avenue Development
Not far from our block lies a new development aimed toward putting Washington Avenue on the map. Spearheaded by Waco natives, this strip of stores is bringing new small businesses and oldies alike, downtown!

Wildland: Often described as the Waco Anthropolgie, this local shop is becoming its own fashion icon. If you are looking for something beautifully made that will make a statement on its own, visit here!

Gather: Magnolia Fans get ready! This storefront is co-owned by Magnolia Potter, Jonathan Martin of Black Oak Art. You’ve seen him on a few episodes of Fixer Upper, but his wife, Sara Martin, is upping the ante to make this storefront the master hostess’ dream!

Waco Escape Rooms: Up for a challenge? Ready to truly put your relationships to the test? Then try and break out of a Waco Escape Room, but be warned—the challenge can be addictive!

The Warehouse
My list wouldn’t be complete without including our Warehouse! It’s not technically a new store for the summer, but we have just rolled out brand new hours and finds that have me feeling like it is brand spanking new! If you are at all a fan of vintage finds, antiques, DIY projects, or the farmhouse style, you MUST stop by.
