The way to my family’s heart is through our stomach—and Waco has truly swept us off our feet. If you are looking for some good eats, then you just can’t beat the Wack, but if you are a little unsure of where to start, let us help! Here is a quick review of some of our taste buds’ favorite Waco eateries.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day right? So make sure you really do it right!
Cupps may not look like much from the outside—but man it makes up for it with delicious hash browns and perfect pancakes, and if you don’t shy away from a good old fashion greasy burger, stop by for lunch too—they won’t disappoint.
Lula Jane’s is the perfect place to chat over a cup of coffee and munch on delectable pastries—our favorite is the breakfast pie. If you are looking for a place that is truly homegrown, stop by Lula’s and browse her garden, it will be sure to bring a little enchantment to your morning.
Cafe Cappuccino is breakfast royalty in WacoTown. With everything from over-stuffed omelettes to delicious crepes—“Cafe Capp” never disappoints and is always worth the wait!
Lunch and Dinner in Waco offers an array of scrumptious options, but our favorites are the best of the best—in our humble opinion.
Captain Billy Whizzbangs is a local hidden gem and arguably the best burger in town. A little bit off the beaten path, Captain Billy Whizzbangs is a classic burger joint with all the fixings.
CheddarBox will delight your taste buds with gourmet grilled cheese, and let us tell you—you’ve never had a sandwich like this. The local food truck even has a sandwich named “The Wacoan”, and we love this cheesy goodness almost as much as we love the city its named after. If you’re visiting Magnolia Market, you can swing by their food truck at the Silo’s, then head down a block to see us at The Findery!
Sergio’s food truck may not look like anything special from the outside, but what’s inside their tortillas will change your definition of good Mexican food completely. Sergio’s serves up authentic and delicious tacos, burritos, and quesadillas daily, and leaves patrons craving more.
Alpha and Omega will make you feel like you have wandered off the streets of old Greece and into your greek food dreams. If you are a fan of mediterranean cuisine, this stop is a must—let us just tell you, their gyros are to die for!
1424 is the Waco connoisseur when it comes to good food and wine, and is the place to go if your taste buds are looking to splurge. Whether you enjoy a roasted lamb shank or a philly cheese steak, by the end of your meal, you will be asking if you’ve died and gone to heaven.
Manny’s on the River is dinner with a view. Here you can enjoy an ice cold Margarita while you sit out on their porch overlooking the Brazos—it’s a pretty picture perfect afternoon if you ask us.
If your mouth isn’t watering already, it should be! Now get out there, and make your little foodie heart happy!
